What is Energizing Indiana?
Energizing Indiana is a united effort by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, participating utilities, and consumer organizations to offer comprehensive energy efficiency programs that bring savings to communities across the state. With programs for homes, schools, businesses and commercial facilities, Energizing Indiana provides education, tools and incentives to improve efficiency and conserve energy across the state.
Who can participate in Energizing Indiana?
All participating utility companies’ customers may take part in Energizing Indiana. Residential customers, business owners, facility managers, school administrators, teachers, students and consumers will find ways to lower their energy costs through our programs.
How do I know if my utility company participates in Energizing Indiana?
More than 90% of Hoosiers are served by participating utility providers. Click HERE to view a complete list of participating utilities and look for more information from your local utility.
Can I take part in Energizing Indiana if my utility company doesn’t participate?
Everyone can do his or her part to conserve energy and energize Indiana. Even if your utility provider isn’t participating in the program you can learn about ways to make your home or business more efficient by clicking HERE.
Is Energizing Indiana run by local government?
No, the program is an initiative of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC). An advocate of neither the public nor the utilities, the IURC is required by state statute to make decisions that balance the interests of all parties to ensure the utilities provide adequate and reliable service at reasonable prices.

How does energy efficiency help economic development or create jobs here locally?
The Energizing Indiana program is creating new jobs for Indiana residents to work in and facilitate our programs. The program has hired management, administrative, and technical positions from the Indiana work force. In addition, when you make your home or business more energy efficient, the improvement work is traditionally done by local professionals. That means dollars spent on improvements stay in the community.
How can commercial property owners get involved?
Energizing Indiana’s Commercial and Industrial Program is specifically designed to help building owners and facility managers save on energy costs.
